Iam looking to change out a 454 330 hp B 1 outdrive to a 500efi or 525efi
What all will have to be done.

From what I've read and heard...should be a simple swap and you won't have to change out your B1. As long as you have all the electronics & wiring & exhaust, the new motor should bolt right in without much issue...if any at all.
Good luck. Either one's a big step up from that 330hp 454 and will make a huge difference.

you will have to change the main wiring harnass from the dash back to the motor, or in the very least add a new line or two. most likely just for the electronic fuel pump. through hull exhaust and flappers will need to be installed if not already on the boat. if you do the switch, change your gimbal bearing if it hasn't been done already. a new coupling may not be a bad idea either, if the new motor does not have a new one on it. if you've done an engine swap before in a boat, you should be able to do it in a day, or a day in a half. good luck

Magic as long as you buy a engine that is wired for a standard main engine harness Connector you should have a bolt in set up. A new coupler is never a bad idea, with a higher output engine a diesel coupler is a good upgrade but a bit pricey but very strong.

you will need a new drive or upgrade the one you have the stock B1 wont handle the bigger motor
