Good luck man. Those are so hard to find. I'll keep an eye out as I swap quick change gears all the time. But I never run across any 500 stuff. I found an 20' eliminator one time that was in new shape. Price was right but I passed on it because it had a C500 in it.

Jeff I really don't need the whole deal but if the price was right I might be able to swing it. I don't know if I can swing a 39 gear. Right now it has 15's. I just bought it. 20.5 Daytone with a 550 chevy twin turbo. Made 856 hp and 1052 lb trq dynoed. With the 15's it makes 15lbs of boost when you step on it. Will this motor pull a 39?

BadAss, My 20' schiada with a turbo 461" pulles a 37 gear & 11 3/8 x 16 two blade prop @ 5,500RPM. I bet you could swing the 39's. I'm building a 572" turbo deal now and plan on running a 40% gear. That is the biggest one I can fit in the case with out cutting the water jackets.

Superdave I'm running 48's in my split case
all you have to do is use a drum sander to get a little more clearance it dosen't even use 1/3 of the wall. I'm runnin a 11 3/8 16 also mines a three blade menkins.

Sorry BAF I didn't even pay attention to what you asked. I believe with the right prop you can run the 39's but I don't know that much about Datona boats it sounds like enough power!!
The c-500 is not mine it belongs to 'ta friend.

Schiada 96 I would be interested in talking to your friend about purchasing his V-drive. How can I get a hold of him? Super Dave, Thanks for the input on what gears I can turn. I don't know much about the C-500 is there a center plate? I have not even looked under the floor at the V-drive. I just know it had 15's when I bought it

the c-500 gears are not like the split case gears, you have to press them on with a press, also Casale says you that you have to heat the case to remove some of the bearings. It is NOT a 20 minute job that a split case is, also new gears are $750. from Casale! I have the instruction if you didn't get them from Dave.
Good Luck,
Marc

Tony, whip that thing out and put the one out of the white boat in there. Then I could fix you up with a set of 29's.

Bernie, I am seriously considering it. The only problem is the this C500 is so quiet. I don't want to hear the whine of a split case. How are things in Bernieville. Did your parents ever receive a check from the MF race? Say hi to everybody.

Tony, yeah they got a check. Whine???? Put louder exhaust on that thing, then you wouldn't be albe to hear the whine....lol. everything is good here, fixin to head up to Bryan for he races. Goin to make one pass tommorrow and then start partying. I put the stronger springs on the plates last weekend and tilted the seat a little forward for that racey look. Also opened the air plates a little to try and calm that thing down a little. I am still trying to talk dad into going to Phoenix for the finals, looking for a good sponsor....lol. Well I will call you when we get back to let you know how we did.
