I have 40% gears in my blown Biesemeyer flattie and I get 6200 rpm. Should I drop down or will my rpm's be unacceptably high. The engine has good stuff, but is not dry sump. It will hop and doink a couple of times before taking a set. If so they are 10', any trades?

I have a gear exchange program going. I swap gears for the ratio you want (if I have them) for a slight fee. I'm not the only guy doing it but I think I'm doing it cheapest. I have a set of 10deg lightened 35%. Shoot me an e-mail for the details. They are way lighter than a standard set so you will accelerate quicker. In my blown flat I ran between 25 - 37's.

What do you think the rpm difference will be if I went to the 35's?

In a perfect world, you should turn 6429.63 rpm at the same speed. If the engine makes more power at that rpm, then it would be higher. Is the engine setup like a Circle boat, with the blower belt towards the front of the boat? Love to see a picture.

I was going to shoot from the hip and guess 6,500 RPM. LeE ss13 is the man on that stuff so my guess was pretty close I'ed say.
