I'm going to build a mild 540 BBC for a jet boat. I need some suggestions on an single plane intake 3000/6500 for a 4500 carb (1050)
I'm running a Merlin Marine single plane now with a 4150 carb (850) should I use an adp. 4150 to 4500 or go with one of these
Looking for some good suggestions
Brodix HV 2001
World X
Victor

I have read elsewhere that those merlin manifolds are really not that good.
The victor is the one I'd go with. :mix:
Not very expensive and work well out of the box, but I'm sure they all could be better then right out of the box. :)
Likely add some type of spacer on top to get the carb a little farther away from the runners.
My 2cents.

supersoaker466, heres something you might have to consider. about two years ago i was building a 496 and had a dart intake. to use the dart i would have had to bought a degreed spacer for underneath the carb. i ended up using a brodix intake with a 1 inch spacer but it was`nt degreed.

What cylinder heads ?
What compression ?
HR or SR cam ? Over .600" lift ?
Are you planning peak HP at 6500 ? If not where ?
What kind of boat ? Single or dual engine ?

Make your 468-502 BBC launch harder and run faster with Reher-Morrison's Funnel Ram Intake Manifold combination! We start with a Dart standard-flange intake manifold, and then add a 4500 Dominator carb adapter. Then our cylinder head experts port the manifold plenum, adapter and intake runner. Combining the manifold's small plenum and extended runner dividers with the tapered carb adapter produces a venturi effect that dramatically boosts torque and improves throttle response. The Reher-Morrison 'Funnel Ram" gives you instant acceleration, a strong carb signal for precise fuel metering and equal cylinder-to-cylinder fuel distribution. It will make your rat motor roar!
Dart intake, adapter and ported - $679.95
Edelbrock intake, adapter and ported - $579.95

If you want to keep your intake we have a great 4500-4150 adapter.

CFM's adapter is what I would recommend. "Tapered Induction". . .funnell that fuel and air into that chamber.

Back in the mid 90's, Lingenfelter told me this was the best set up . Using a moroso adapter, this flowed better than the 4500 manifold. He also said for 300 bucks he could port the intake and get me 20 more horses.
