It must be a piece of plywood with a big block and a steering wheel. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif

maybe it's a v-drive?
Anyway, if you put a price tag of $1000.00, I bet you would sell it REAL fast.

My BBF is stock too, turning 4500 rpms and I have beaten several "80 mph jets" .. So I was thinking if I beat them I MUST be doing like 85 or 90 MPH. I finally bought a GPS and it said I was only going 62.4 mph I think it's defective though, 'cause I know I'm going 90

You know, everyone has a 100mph jet, until someone with GPS comes around. That is why I bought GPS. Pretty amazing phenomenon.

Actually Wet Dream my GPS did just the opposite. My boat rides really smooth and feels very stable (on good water), so I was thinking I was running in the 52-55 MPH range. I was in shock when 62.4 came up. I didn't believe my GPS, so I checked it against a friends and also on a measured mile. I took the GPS for a ride in a friends flattie last year and he thought he'd just made a 85MPH pass until I showed him the 68 MPH read out.
My point here is that for most of us I think it's extremely hard to guess how fast we're going unless you've clocked your boat before.
And almost everyone tends to guess on the high side :-)

I used a GPS last week, and all day it said 58.8 MPH. But then I hit some really rough water, and got a measured speed of 73.4. So how acurate are they, because there was no way in hell I hit 73 MPH in 3 foot seas.

okay guys, i'm realy sorry to me so stoburn and keep saying that i was doing 80 @ 45oo rpms i was using and indash speedomoter. and it was false. so i went to the lake with my boat and my friends HTM SS 24 and he has gps along with indash speedomoter. and i found out that i was doing 60 instead of 80 hey i took all of you guy's words's and took it out for another test so it reall goes 60 mph @4500 rpms, pushed it to 4900 and did 67. what do you guys think. thanx -Eric

not everyone, I'd guess mine did about 50ish up until the end of last year. I did some mods over the winter so we'll see if it'll hit 55 now. Never gps'd it and won't for a while so I guess I'll just go by if there's an increase in the R's.

thanks GW! I really kind of wish I had gps'd it before I made the changes to see if there was a noticable increase. Then again, I made changes geared towards the low end not top speed. If the engine gets to 5K it's probably going to fall on it's face http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
