Hello, I am new to your site. It rules I am on alot of motorcycle forums and they are very helpfull. I recently sold my 83 bayliner and bought a 73 cobalt 18' bowrider with a V8 I believe it is a chevy or GMC. The problem is I dont know anything about it. I am mechanically inclined but I like finding shop manuals for all the toys I find. It runs good on the hose but it is leaking water into the oil. So I was wondering, can I just drop another chevy 350 in there and swap over the alternator water pump, etc?? any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
aaiq

if its a small block now then i would guess that you could put anther small block in there. but if its a big block then you are going to run in to some issues , if you are going to put a small block in it then build it pretty stout to save your self the time from doing it again , is your boat a jet or prop boat? good luck and you will get it ! just keep reading around these parts or go to www.banderlog.com (http://www.banderlog.com) to the board there they are good guys too and know alot! not that people around these parts dont. but just anther place to check out.

Right it is a jet propelled. I pulled a engine out of a 86 caprice that I am building to put in. The next question I have is do I have to use the OMC exhaust manifolds?? one of mine is cracked and I dont know where i can find anothre one.
Thanks,
Maurice
