I love my Concord. It is a little under powered but I am building a new motor. I would go for the 502. Ronnie

Ultra's 237xs (i think that's it) is a great boat with the 496. if you're looking for a V bottom.

Check out Lavey Craft! They are very near the 15/91 interchange.
The 21 runs right at 70 with a 496 and they are a smooth riding deep v hull!

If you want top quality and boat that can handle rough lake water I would look at the Howard with a 496 HO or what ever engine package you can afford.

In most respects, I think the 496 MAG HO is comparable to the old 502 MAG MPI. The horsepower and torque curves are slightly in favor of the new 496. The only weak spot on the 496 HO are the cast pistons. However, that shouldn't be too much of a concern in a normally aspirated application.
In the 23-25' category, I would take a close look at the Lavey 24, Shockwave 25, and Howard 25. I really like the 25 Shockwave! Very very well built and rigged with tons of interior room :D

The Shockwave probably has the most room out of any of these boats, but I'm guessing that the Howard may be the fastest...The best choice comes down to what your priorities are in a boat... :D :D

Does anyone know if Sonic is still in business? They had a really sweet looking 26 footer, think it was the Sonic 260. Looking for information on performance and build quality.
Thanks,
Rick

if you're looking for a v-hull i'd seriously consider the lavey craft, dcb extreme, nordic rage or eliminator eagle. i don't own any of the above listed boats but think all of them look bitchin' and they are all very well built.

How about Cole, or Cougar.
For me and my wallet, if I wanted an inexpensive but cool bowrider. I would get a Glaston/Carlson CSS21 or 23. All fiberglass VEC construction, Drop down bolsters, dual handle controls, and big block power!

Thanks,
Rick  Sonic is still in business, but finding a west coast dealer could be tough. They build a solid hull, but their Imron paint graphics and interior amenities leave something to be desired.

RiskyinElsinore, if I'm not mistaken you went with the Renegade right?
However since everyones chippin in there two cents..
Take a look at the Nordic 25 Rage. wink
I'd bet that it's faster then all the ones listed so far with the same power and it'll dwarf half of the list.

The 25 Eliminator Eagle and the 25 Nordic Rage are the 2 fastest 25s on the market. They will run gunnel to gunnel with each other.Nice thing is if you decide to motor up,they both can handle big power.A couple of the boats mentioned above WILL get kinda evil above 75 or so.

Before it got stolen there was a Shockwave 25 owner that was running 93mph. Buck is one "Crazy" guy! :D
