What type of Drive ?? Bravo, Can't help you, but on an alpha ! Lots of little spots. make sure the surface is PERFECT, the large "O" ring is in place and don't move, the water passage "O" ring is GLUED in place. The "O" ring/seal on the shift shaft. Torque is 50 pounds. maybe one of the studs is Loose, pulling out or stretched.
Good luck

truckboss:
the leak was noticed the same day the speedo quit working. Well, this seems like a joke, but I'll go ahead and answer.
most likely the speedo tube came off (or broke off) of the barb where it enters the boat from the drive. This can be found under the cooling water entry port behind the engine, under the driveshaft.
Seems funny that you know the "gimbal ring" term, but mispronounce (and very obviously) the proper name "bravo." As in the drive unit. :D wink :D
