Your'e lucky you haven't broken your neck. If the motor is out, have the crankshaft machined for a 1/4 inch keyway opposite the stock key. If the threads in the snout are shot, tap it bigger. Get a hardened steel blower drive hub or a steel SFI approved balancer. If you have been running stock cast iron balancers, you are asking for it. Is your belt too tight? Check it when hot, there should still be 1/2 inch of slack.

HEY D JIM THE BLOWER MOTER IS IN A CHEVY TRUCK. I'VE BEEN RUNNING A STREET DAMPER, BUT THEY BREAK TOO. WHAT TYPE OF HUB ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. THE MOTOR IS INTERLY BALANCED

BHJ makes balances that are double keyed for blower use. I know they make them for big blocks so you might want to check into a small block version. If they don't I used to use a standard BHJ (SFI approved) balance that I sent out to be double keyed. I made over 30 pounds of boost with no problems.
If you want to use a steel hub, I think I just might have a good used one for a small block chevy. It's for an internally balanced engine. I wouls sell it cheep.
Here is a pic of the double keyed, 6 bolt, SFI approved balancer that is for supercharger use.

Here is the old style that I had the second key way broched into it.

What is up with web shots? I can't link to any of my pics anymore!
Anyway, I got the balancer from Littlefield blowers.
