Just by looking on the outside, I don't think you can tell which is which. One of these boats is a drag runner the other is a circle runner, if you don't already know the boats, can you tell which is which?

Besides the above mentioned differences, the quickest way I've found to differentiate them is that the circle runner has a slight V in the hull where the turn fins mount under the v-drive. The drag runners pad is flat until it feathers into the forward portion of the hull.

I believe the one on the right is the circlerunner.

I believe mine measures around 18'6" but it has CIR RUNNER stamped on the v-drive midplate, I believe the stamping is on the bottom of the plate facing the floor.

I tried to get some decent shots at lunch but they didn't turn out real well. The boat has quite a bit of v to it in the nose till about the middle of the boat. It does measure exactly 18'3" which I read somewhere a drag runner is 17' something and a circle runner is 18' 3"?

......Does anybody think Sanger rigged his boat? If it's for circle racing--
Not sure why it's not running off the nose....Matter of preference???
-
I was told this is a circle boat do to the bottom has a slight v in the rear of this sanger

I am not saying its a Circle Boat. I believe it is a Circle Runner which is the model. But from what I have read the hull was run by people as a circle boat in the 70's? I am sure a race hull was quite different as far as how it was constructed. Balsa floors, lighter and heavier lay-up and ya the motor would be in the other direction on a circle boat.

In the bottom right corner of this pic it has all the factory hull dementions.

I live in Pocatello. About 80 miles from Burley. I would love to check you guys out and maybe participate. I have family and friends in Lewiston and Couerdalene. Where do you guys run relative to those places? When is your first get together?
