427 blower motor froze up

this motor was in a 1990 cheyenne i bought,however,i have a blown ford 466 to put in it and don't really need this motor.all i know about it is it was supposedly running when the guy parked it.he let it set outside for 3 years uncovered.it is supposed to be an 871,it is a bds blower on a weiand intake.the 427 says high performance on it, and the heads are 6272990's.i want to keep the carbs,mounts, guard,and hoses,.i wouldn't even know what to ask for it,so please give me some feedback.as it was sitting the scoop was covered with the cover in the picture and was tight.there is no water in the oil.my phone number is 361-782-1241,thanx,marty http://www.***boat.com/image_center/...86DSC_5616.jpg

be worth more running :) I would pull the plugs and run some penitrating oil down the cylingers - Rings might just be froze - make sure there is no water in the cylingers - might be fun to get drunk and work on a chevy - :crossx: cause its a rarity that you have to work on one -- heheheheh

find out what ya want for it and let me know. i need and engine for a v-drive...

they are service replacement heads probobly get them cheaper from GM
are you sure they are not 290 on ebay for $1200?

yeah i must say that $4000 for what you have is a little steep!
it would most likely cost $4000 to get it back together again.
$2500 is my offer and i would have to seriously think about it.

UPDATE,the wd-40 worked overnight and i pulled the plugs and made two full rotations,turns easily.put plugs back in and compression kicked in ,felt normal.i'll take 3500.00 O.B.O. above 3,000.,no less! thanx,marty

if you don't want it ,don't buy it!you don't have to slander it.and please read all details,no water in oil,no rusty spark plugs,etc.it did have a good tight cover on the intake scoop that will still hold water,i checked.every body wants something for free! :rolleyes:

6-71 is about as useful on a big block with any kind of power as tits on a boar hog. its been sitting outside for 3 years=needs rebuild. brand new 8-71 complete is only $3000.00. ready to go

marty failed to mention that gary snow built this motor. worst case is it needs boring and new pistons.the guy atx bought it from did keep it covered until last summer(2005) when cover got damaged and he just let it set.
the guy marty bought this boat from wasn't a "boat addict".but the mill should sell for at least 3k for parts alone, try and piece together a blower mill, it'll coat ya way more than the 3500.00 marty's askin plus another 1000-1500 it'll take to get her goin again, that'd be @5k for a fresh blown 427.that's cheap as hell for alot of hp!!
i know alot about this boat and its mill because me and marty both wanted the boat, marty made the deal first and got it.if i had the dough, i'd be all over this!! but i need a tunnel 1st to put it in,lol.

pull the covers and go threw rotation - change the oil , pull the distrubuter - prime it ! drop the distrubuter back in and set timing . lets work on putting some fuel to it and seeing what the carbs look like then lets fire it :)
