Riverbound::: How does it sound, the 4 subs up front? Should I go this route or try to put them @ rear?
Looks good there in the bow!
I ended up putting my subs in the rear seat base. Couldn't be happier with the sound quality and the volume.

What did you use? Two subs two ports? Cool setup, does it thump? I need your plans LOL
They are four 10" subs in sealed enclosures. They are powered by a 1200 watt subwoofer amp.
To be honest its too much bass for four 6X9's and two 6.5" seperates (those are getting about 100 watts each for a total of just shy of 600). I have the gains on the sub amp turned down pretty low.
Hell yeah! I'll love this forum lots of info. When I start my project I'll come here for tips.
I have these beasts powering my 2-JL Audio 10w7 subs, 2 pairs of BA 6.5 Pros, and 2 pairs of BA 6x9's. Ten months later I'm still making my damn payments on this system.
Plenty of juice on those babies!!!!!!
my sub a up front . sound great.

that particular boat is one of the hardest hitting boats I have built. It has won numerous stereo contests, including this years eliminator regatta for best stereo. If you go to havasu you will see it out on the water almost every weekend. It is a blue 25 eagle with a big al&eds autosound sticker on the side.
go to new f-26 in cat and tunnels for some pic's
some of them in the Magic. Trojan Dan's set-up is nice also as are the rest of yours...

Infinity Subs

Infinity amps. Big babies, 300Wx1 Class D RMS, 75Wx4 RMS
they power the rest of the speakers (8). Everything is Infinity and I can't rave enough of these.

Thanks Loco. What are you looking at when you upsize your boat?
Hey Riverbound, I've seen only one other boat with 4 6x9's above the dash. Are those custom built enclosures,or store bought? I wanted to do something like the back to back 6x9's and use some perko light bases and masts for the speaker connection. Anyone have pics or suggestions on how to fab this up so it doesn't look HOKEY?
BB572. NICE INSTALL!
What kind of comps, subs, etc are you running?
Sony ES Head unit
Sony 12 disc CD/MP3 ESP player
Sony marine wired remote
4 Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5 components (one pair to be installed shortly)
4 Infinity Kappa 693.5i 6X9's
4 Infinity Kappa Perfect 10" subs
1 JBL bp1200.1 Subwoofer Amplifier (1200 watts RMS)
1 JBL P180.2 two channel Amplifer (360 watts RMS)
1 JBL PX600.2 two channel amplifer (600 watts rms) (Soon to replace 1 JBL P180.2)
Lots of 1/0 gauge power cable.
250 amp ANL fuse
Phoenix Gold accessories
I've posted some of these before but here they are. When my boat was being built, I went down and installed all the stereo wiring. Shockwave built the subwoofer enclosure, cut all the speaker holes. Then I installed all the gear after taking delivery of the boat.

River, I am running four 12" Alumapro marine subs. They are scheduled to debut the beginning portion of next year. The components that I am using are the Alumapro Alchemy 6.5" components. I have 6 pairs of the 6.5's. I have one Zapco 4k watt amp with 1k per channel to the subs and two Zapco 1k watt amps powering the speakers. I am also running a Phatnoize 50 farad cap with a Kenwood head unit. I love how clear the sound is and I can play everything from Hiphop to Country and it sounds crystal clear. The nice thing is that we were building the system while building the boat so the subs have built in boxes into the boat that were glassed in and are the perfect air space for the subs. The proper boxing makes a world of difference. The only problem that I have is that it drains the batteries extremely fast. If I am cranking I will drain all four Optima blue tops in approx. 30 minutes.
did someone say stereo? 8- 15" subs, 8- 4 way 7x10s and around 10,000 watts
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/...re_277-med.jpg
Dam Yellow...that's alot of speakers....what kind of speakers and amps are you running, particularly the 7x10's?
i have ran a few different amps in it but right now there is 1000ds on the subs and a rockford fosgate power 1000 on the highs, the 7x10s are kenwood excelon they are loud as hell.
we have a 60' bluewater yacht and i am in the process of putting 6 yamaha pro cabinets and 3 jl 15s on it i have 3- qsc 2450s which is more power then most clubs on it.
Dam...the 60' should make a nice LOTO floating dance floor...
Nice system BB. Sounds like you need a generator for all the power you have on tap! Can't wait to hear it one day. I also hear you on the sub enclosure design. Its vital.
BYC - My ears are ringing just from seeing your system....

No pics of the sub setup...but overall, I was very impressed with sound and setup performed by DCB
:)
Thats a sweet setup Mbrown. How is the generator wired into the system? It is not connected to a battery charger is it or is it direct power for the amps and not run through the batteries? I definitely have to do that on the next boat!
BB572,
The generator is wired to the Xantrex charger and the charger is connected to the batteries...The built-in charger on the generator is no match for the Xantrex, so I just wanted 110 for the Xantrex..
It works great...but let me know when you are ready to build, I have other ideas, and their are more ways to skin a cat..
