I'm posting this as a favor to a friend - he just got several BRAND NEW forged 427 BBC crankshafts - selling them for $420 apiece, plus shipping - anyone interested? If so, drop me an email and I'll hook you up :9

Does he have any forged 396 cranks by any chance?
AH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I crack myself up!
I'm sorry, mister460, but I don't understand....... I'll help you out if I can, (he has a LOT of rare and hard to find pieces), but what's the joke......?
Mister 460 Crack Kills.........You better stop !!!!!!!!!
I do believe Mister460 is alluding to the fact that the 396 and 427 use the same crankshaft.

Boy howdy I'd like to see the crank that both those engines use, it's gota be a big one to hook 'em up together...
Do they? I wasn't aware of that (and I apologize for not knowing), but had I known that were the case, I suppose I probably would have stated it a little differently, but to each his own, I guess - THANK YOU for the info, OLDSQUIRT - I appreciate your providing me (and others, I'm sure) with the insight! Thanks again! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
I think all 396 and 427 cranks are Forged. I may be wrong.

Yep your right.....................Your wrong.
they came with cast as well and were more common than forged http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
Thanks for the additional info, squirt - I thought the forged cranks were less common than the cast in all BBC applications - well, hope I can help out anybody that needs one of these pieces - he's got several..... http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

That's funny.
Welllll - OK http://free.***boat.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif .........Like I said, I didn't know (and I'm SURE I wasn't the only one), but I'm always ready to learn something new - that's a big reason why I'm on here....Just thought the info might help someone out...
396 and 427 cranks are interchangeable, but the 427 has a larger counterweight in the middle.
Hey HotGMCjet, sorry if it seemed like I was bein an ass. It was just a long day at work and I needed something to make myself laugh. No harm intended. Take it easy.
No harm done, mister460 (but it DID come off that way) - apology accepted FULLY - Like I said, at least I learned something out of it, so that makes it worthwhile anyway...... guess I'll get back to work on my rig - hope to splash her by this summer......just my luck I'm running a 454 - those cranks won't help me!!!! lol Oh well, if it helps somebody else, I've done my job.... http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
OK, folks - I've posted in a few other places about these cranks, but haven't had any "bites" (yet) - how about some additional places I can "pass the word" by posting a (free!) ad.......any ideas? http://free.***boat.net/ubb/confused.gif Just want to help my friend out the best that I can, and I'm SURE that you all know a HECK of a lot more places than I do....Thanks for your help! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
i think is a little high dude.......there only worth about 250 on a good day!!!
Point taken, triple x, but I'm just passing along the number he gave me - I don't know, but seemed pretty cheap to me, not to mention they can't be that easy to come by brand new - BUT, what do I know??!! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif lol - thanks anyway for your input! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
Would like to know alittle bit more about the 427 new cranks...I am building a 427 for 67 vette,
Thankyou,
