I have a lightning rail kit advertised in the spam section that includes the motor plates, belhousing, and driveshaft guard. Can someone please give me an idea what its worth. I am not certain, but it seems like I paid around $1600 6 years ago. Does that sound right? I just want to make sure it is priced fair for both buyer and seller.
Thx

WOW 1600? That sounds like a lot. I think I have seen new kits sell recently online(here) all polished for under 700, and they included rails, backing plates, nice pillow blocks, flywheel cover and front & rear mounts...

I have all of those things included (ie. rails, back plates, blocks, motor plates, belhousing, driveline guard). Everything needed for installation - in fact, just pulled it out of the boat last weekend. So, what do you think it is worth?
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

If its in good shape I think 600 bucks is fair. If you paid 1600 you got hosed, unless they fit it for your boat, A lot of hours involved there...But in any case, it is likely that someone is going to have to modify it some to make it fit their boat/pump install.

I think Lightning gets about $800-$850 for their kit new. http://www.boatheaders.com/kits.htm
