can anyone tell me if upgrading to a 377 bravo 1 from a 350 alpha 1 is worth the $4000 upgrade price. I am primarily concerned with reliability and not speed since I am a new boater with young children.
    Thanks

You should probably ask this in the outdrive section, You might get more info.

I would say yes. Bigger engine = less work when you're traveling. Bravo I is beefier than an Alpha.
More ponies, more torque. Family boating will not be compromised. Your insurance might go up a teensy bit. Maybe $50 or so, nothing major.
It's worth it. Don't forget resale value.

I would spend the money and do the upgrade...I know you are not interested in top speed, but the more horsepower you have the less the boat has to work to cruise with a fully loaded with gear and people...
