Just got my 520 ci Big ford back from my engine man. Motor has Edelbrocks
head on it now with 2.19 in and 1.7 ex. Heads were ported but now Trick flow
has a new head for the 460. Half of me is ready to sell the Edelbrocks for the
Trick Flows with the 2.25 in.
Not sure what my jet will like the best.
    Any thoughts????

Both the new TFS Street/Strip and Edelbrock heads are tailored after the factory cast iron 429 Super Cobra Jet heads with slight improvements. Between the two, they are practically the same head. No need to swap.

The Edelbrock looks like a velocity approach. Small ex port but good shape. Have had great luck with Trick Flow heads in the past. The TFS head just
looks better. Big valve may not be the way to go in a low RPM deal.

Hey ford fellas. I am working on a 86 Bronco with D8OE heads. You guys know anything about small block heads? I am wondering if there is anything in the junk yard that might wake this motor up, or if the difference will be so miniscule that it wont be worth the hassle.....

Go get the heads off a v8 explorer, I think they are the gt 40 castings, from what I have read they are the hot ticket for a stock head.

Elim is that a 302? How bout some Australian Cleveland heads? The Cleveland was a 302 in Australia and so the combustion chambers of the Cleveland heads were made really tiny so as to maintain compression with the 302 stroke. good street sized ports for a 4x4 too.

Or if it's a 351, then WOW you will have compresison and could add a big cam.

You planning on running your efi? if so cleveland heads wont work unless you weld up an intake for them, or espoxy holmes.
