The helicopter reacts as you'd expect for tail rotor loss of effectiveness or complete failure. That is, nose right and left fuselage roll. Looks like a Jet Ranger (Bell 206?) which are more sensitive to tail rotor loss of effectiveness than the one I flew. Also notice how fast the initial collective pull. Not good. For one thing you got an unsteady load on the helicopter as the boat hits waves. For another, with that much force on the line, you risk the bow eye popping...and the rope slinging up into the rotor.
Apparantly, the pilot didn't think about that.
