I once ran my 64 Dodge dart (4 door) into a brand new Volvo. It still had dealer plates, was on its first tank of gas and they were headed to Palm Springs. I sure f-ed up their plans...
Rainy day, freeway off ramp. My planned fishtail got a little wide....oh well. sorry lady. Mercury Insurance cancelled me after that one....

I was driving a red Celica (Older style) in 1983 and stopped at a 4-way made my turn and a sherriff slammed into the back off my car spinning me into about 3 360's. Totalled my car. He ran the stop with no siren or lights at about 40 to 50 MPH. OUCH eek!
I rolled in 5 vehicles inside of 3 years.
1) 84 F150 , got a little sideways in the orange groves, ended up in a ditch.
2) Baja Bug, went off a hillside road into a wash sideways.
3) 85 Ford Ranger, playing Ivan Stewart in the hills. After a housewarming party, but that's another story.
4) 70's Duster (friend was driving), sideways on a dirt road.
5) 67 Bronco, tried the same hill 9 times and on the 9th try looped it coming down the hill backwards.
Figure I've probably used up all my luck by now.

1983 - Driving to work to Stockton in heavy fog... and stopped at what I knew to be the intersection at a flashing light that was barely visible....rolled the window down to listen to traffic and heard an approaching car from the rear going pretty fast...tensed up and was hit at 60 mph and shot me 150 ft across the road into a irrigation ditch and my truck was sitting across the ditch...when I finally got out I fell about 2 feet down into the muddy water and the lady that hit me went thru her windshield. I was luckier than she was. I still am terrified to drive in the fog.
1986...West bound HWY12 @ Tower Park Bridge, nearly off the bridge when a Fiero appeared out of a cloud of smoke & coming straight for Us (Me & Jeff)at approx. 100mph (as per the police report)..We were doing approx. 50mph......Tore her car in half, took both axels off my 79' Ford 4X4....She walked away..Jeff was shaken but OK, I Had to be taken to Sacramento Kaiser with a Broken Neck..Still see the paint marks on the bridge where my truck hit the concrete on the side of the bridge...... Still hate driving on HYW12.....
You won't beleive this one! 1989,2:00AM on my way home from work, I stopped at the local Exxon and was talking to an old highschool friend when this guy came in asking directions to the local college-said he was going to a party. We told him how to get there and he left. He came back in about five minutes later and asked for the same directions again! It was at this point that we both realized how drunk he was, so after he left we talked about calling the police on him, but decided not to. So I headed on towards the house. Going down the road, I saw a car coming towards me in my lane(Geuss Who) when I realized that he was going to hit me, I stood on the brake as hard as I could, and BOOM! He hit me head-on! Yep you guessed it ,it was the guy I had given directions to! Broke my heel bone completely off, crushed my foot and ankle, broke my leg clean three inches above my knee, broke the same leg in eight pieces six inches above that and shoved the bone through my leg and pants, broke my arm and three ribs and knocked the windshield out with my face breaking my nose also. To top it all off, he had no insurance! His statement to the State police in the hospital the next day was simply " I dont know what happened and I don't know where it happened at." Lucky Me huh?
1976...racing against a buddy of mine in my 1968 Cougar, ran off the road and hit 2 culverts, said I flipped end over end a half dozen times, crawled out through where the windshield used to be and was driven to the hospital, ended up sore as hell and had a few missing teeth from where I hit the steering wheel.
1/2 mile from my house a woman in a Mazda Protege decided to turn left in front of me. F-250 HD vs little car....I won!
She left in an ambulance, and her car was totalled. Air bags went up, the fluids were leaking all over, hood, grill, roof, windows, doors, all crunched. The F-250........needed a new bumper. It bent the bumper back where it rubbed tire or else I could have driven it home.
That moment I knew my family would never have anything smaller than the Suburban or my full sized pickup.
She later tried to sue me, her lawyer finally read the police reports and gave up.
I was 17 driving my buddies 87 Lincoln TownTank. We were headed down the main drag in town, had just gone to the local Sonic, all had very very large drinks,buddy had a footlong chilidog. Him and his girl in the back no belts, me and another friend up front. Passing by a parking lot someone shouts at me, I turn to look, and as I do I slam into the car in front of me at 40+mph. It was a 95 Caprice(20's, screens, kandy paint, the works) Well anywho these 5 black guys get out and start to make trouble, before they realize that we are friends with the 50+ people who were on the lot next to us, and that there were a lot of huge guys around us!! They got calm real quick. They had stopped in the lane of traffic to turn into the Blockbuster, only problem was, that there was a turn lane right next to them(four lane with turn lane in the middle) Cops took a statement and their car was towed. We hooked the battery back up and drove home. Come to find out the guys were watching a porn in their car when we hit them. The guy got caught with ins. fraud and all kinds of other shit when he filed the claim. Buddy got a bent bumper and a coke all over his car. To this day we still ahve no clue where the chilidog ended up!
Junior year of college, home for Thanksgiving. Was up at the country western bar at Universal (C/W was big back in '79), had the boots, hat, all the cool shit. Left about 1:00 totally faced. Hopped into my 1973 911T and headed down that big hill - WAY TO FAST! Sprinklers were on, street got wet, and with the engine in the rear, it didn't take much to lose the rear end and begin to spin. Made at least one 360, jumped the curb, got it straight and back on the road, kept driving with this huge -thunka,thunka, thunka every time the wheels turned. Did this for about a mile or so to a nearby 7-11. Called my dad and girlfriend at the time. She came and got me and my dad also showed up. he said right after I left a CHP stopped by and said wha's up? Dad said the car broke down and he was waiting for the tow truck. They didn't see the other side of the car, totally messed up. Well, when my dad got home (about 3:30 am), we went for a ride in his car - on the freeway so that the neighbors wouldn't hear him chewing my ass out. The next morning he came into my room and apologized for getting so mad, I said I deserved it - which I did. I am now very careful, and in fact, after reading the post yesterday about the breath- alizer, I just went out and bought one. Just to be safe. I'm going out for sushi tonight, anybody want to come along???
The porsche got fixed, and I later blew the engine. Last time I ever drove her. Moral - don't give your kid a Porsche, let him earn it. They'll appreciate it much more. I gotta go back to work to save some more money for the BMW my daughter wants....
