9.4 psi?? from what I was told from kuhls that is ok. I think once you get about 12 or 13 you start lifting the heads and get into the fuzzy area. I ran 11 to 12 psi on my 440 and never hurt the head gasket.
How much overdrive can you safely use with gaskets before having to O ring the block? Im at 9.4 over right now. The engine is 8 to 1 static comp. all good parts with aluminum heads

Im At 10# With No Problem Yet.
I have been running 10.5 psi for 3 seasons now with felpro 1017-1 gaskets, no grooves. I bumped it up to 12 psi at the end of this season and have not seen a problem. Static compression is 8.3 to 1.
The Cometic gaskets will not blow.
Get a set and never worry about it. Reusable also.
