Actually that was the reason that pushed me to finally register. Lookin to buy a boat this spring and I'm looking at the 26' DCB and Ultra 27 Shadow. Been searching through the posts for info and PM'd a couple of users for more info. Hope to have a pic of a new boat soon
You will not be dissapointed with either boat but... For probably lesser money the 27 Shadow is a wicked boat. PM Ultra28, rvrtoy, or JohnwithJM and they will give you all the info you need.Although I haven't seen JohnwithJM on here in quite a while.
As far as customer service and being taken care of after the sale, take it from me, you will get excellent service from Ultra.
After everything I have read on these boards, particularly about their gel work, I am really leaning towards Ultra. I spoke with John last Feb about a couple of used ones he had and he answered every and all questions I had. He was extremely happy to help.
I have a business trip coming up in Jan to San Diego and I'm hoping I can meet up with John while I'm out here. I'm bringin the wife and plan to make it a 5 day weekend out of it. It would be nice to see these boats up in person and possibly vist DCB too.
It happens to be the same weekend as the S.D. boat show which I was happy about but later found out it is pretty much a dud as far as the customs. It sounds like the L.A. show is where it's at. I'm going to try and swing another trip to the west coast for that show.
The January show is the best followed by the Anaheim one. Call John and set an appointment. If he's not there talk to Steve. Good luck.
