Thread: Transom Adapters

  1. #1
    PC Rat
I posted this in another thread, but figured I'll go ahead and start a new one.
How about some pictures of transom adapters? If we need to start a new thread - go for it. [done it]
I need to build a new transom adapter and need some ideas. Has anyone bolted their transom adapter to the pump in some way - I would like to do it on my Daytona because they cut out the bottom of the transom to set back the pump and I noticed a small horizontal crack going from where the bottom and transom meet, almost to the tunnel. I would like to add a pump brace as well.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but,

I just got through taking it off and resealing it.
It's actually in two pieces, left and right side with
4 stainless screws in each side.
All the notches are cut out according
    to the pump design.
PS - All the getto looking adhesive you see was my
failed attempt to temporarily fix a small leak while on
a river trip. Looks tight now.

Ive been thinking about this. After seting my pump back, my hand hole is half in, half out of the boat.
I've just about decided to write off the hand hole accss and seal it off with some flat aluminum plate, that would probably be cheaper than lengthening my old adapter...
Jack definitely builds a killer adapter, I just can't give him any more of my money Maybe if I learn how to weld aluminum I can tackle something like Jacks.

I'd like to build one like on the CP above. Is the recessed part welded to the flat part on the transom or bolted. Also is the recessed part also two pieces?

I made this one myself...full access and removal of hand hole lid.
And the hand hole cover isn't all the out the back.
