I guess with spring coming up I better start working on the boat. The last time I had it in the water was August at the river. And the Jet started whistling or whining pretty loud. It sounds like I have a geardrive in the back of my boat. Anyidea what it could be? Other than the helacious whine, it runs fine.

How often should I grease it?? I ran it all weekend without greasing it. Is that bad??
I'd go twice a year....maybe 3...
I give mine a shot after every trip.

Cant be from lack of grease then, cause I greased it before every big weekend. Doesnt mean it didnt go bad though. I'll start there.

Are you sure it's coming from the pump? It could be your alternator, try taking the belt off and running it again.

Sorry.......the whine,yep didn't sound to good.you might want to call a local pump guy & ask some ?s.You can try Jim 818 890 1867 & see if he will give you something over the phone.
Josh, It sounds like your thrust bearing is gone. Don't drive the boat until you get it fixed or your impeller will cut into the case. Start your boat on the trailer and put a listening device on the bearing housing to your ear, like a long screw driver or a mechanics stetoscope. If it sounds like crap You need a rebuild.
