Greaser is you Southwind a tunnel or the v bottom. If it is a V bottom the short droop would not be the best choice I had one on a 77 bubble deck Tahiti and it didn't give it enough lift or did not work as good as the regular droop.
If it is a tunnel then it might be a diffrent storie.

The main reason for using a shorter droop is to raise the thrust line of the nozzle ... Being shorter, it also means it produces less leverage (ever so slight) about the boats CG.

My Southwind is the v bottom. So I guess my best Gamble is the regular Droop. Any one have one they want to sell.
Did I mention that my middle name is CHEAP lol :hammer2:

OFS, man-o-man, wait till Chet sees your post. If that doesn't bring him out flaming I'll be suprised. Greaser, Duane tried a droop on my boat when he had it last year. I don't know if it was the long or short one. It turned out the snoot got 2 or 3 MPH more than the droop. I'm not making a general statement, just relating what happened in my case. Now that the bottom has been reworked, Garry Snow wants to try the droop. Again, I don't know if it's the short or long one. I'll have to ask him. I'll let you know the results. If the droop gives me more speed, I will be selling my snoot.
