I am looking for a new boat either Liberator,Skater or Lightning with a 300x or a 300 promax 21'I would like to hear your thoughts on these boats.I was told that the Skater and Lighting don't handle that well with a single engine.Thanks.

Two friends 2 boats...One has a 21 Skater with a 2.5 race Merc. and loves it...the other has a 21 Lib with a 2.5 Mariner...also a nice boat, and a pic.can be seen on the Jet forum, under Pic. of Hammer Downs Daytona. Never herd of any handeling problems with either, seen em both run hard, they looked nice and clean on the water. I think with more freeboard the Skater would be a happer choice in rough water.

I think the smallest boat that Skater makes now is 24'. Being a true cat I don't know how a Skater would handle with a single o/b. I have only seen twins and triples.

Missinglink, My 21 Liberator has twin 260's and runs 123-124 when I'm alone. A single 300x will always run over 100, usually 105-107. Dave, at Liberator says he has one customer who claims to have run 118 with a 300x. 7400rpm with a 32 mazco. Says his rev-limiter does'nt kick in. Several guys run 110 with the right set-up. I've run several eliminators and a lightning with similar power, and it was'nt even close. had to be 10 mph difference. Also, Liberator has 6 inches more freeboard than Eliminator. I'm not sure of Skater and Lightning. Of course I'm biased, but I really beleive that the Liberator in a better performing boat. I also, just started selling Liberators here in Fl. My first load of four comes in next week. If you're looking for new, I'm sure I can give you a good price. If so, email at liberatorboats@yahoo.com Thanx WILDMAN
