Electrictions - Switch Question????

I have two toggle switches. Both are (on) off (on). One has three wires and the other has four wires. I want to change the four wire switch to the three wire switch. Can I do this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I think if i remember right,If you change out the four wire to three wire switch you will lose an active switch on the other end of the switch leg.

They go to an IMCO exhaust selector. The switch moves a hydrolic ram.
