I had a 65 Buck Smith wood decker, 428 FE, Hallcraft v-drive, fully rigged. I kept the engine and couldn't find a buyer. Finally gave it to Toddnjuzz to get it out of my driveway.
Buck Smith built fast boats. The were called 'Spico' too. For a while one of his boats, 'Hot Toddy' held the 1/4 mile record with a 135mph, somewhere around there.
He also invented the chopper gun for fiberglass work.
