How the fk do these people sleep at night and stay in business is beyond me!.. This is a customer's motor(a board member) he decided he needed help,(I'm not saying who it is, it's up to him if he wants to give details) This motor was just started up and run at idle for 30 seconds twice after assembly before I got it, this is what I seen as soon as I took off the valve covers. The heads went in to get rebuilt and this is the way they came back, can you believe it!. Can you guess what you see when you put a straight edge across the valve stems!..

I guess that's the long and short of it!! :notam:
30 yrs doing this stuff, and it still surprises me what's called "professional". At least it's in good hands now! :coffeycup
dual springs (maybe a dampner...but looks like duals) with stock keepers
#4 ex ret looks like it's pulling
#4 & 6 intake springs not in their seats
don't see any shims...I can guarantee there's sunk valves after this guy did his valve job, so springs aren't installed properly
At least there's no orange paint inside the rocker area!

So...was this just a head job or did they build the whole motor? And was this the motor someone had that was not oiling the top end and they were wondering why?

I'm betting different pistons...mostly cast, but at least one forged, and different domes. :rollside:
