The swap is no problem it will all fit in the same boat as the small block was in. I do this all the time as, When I rebuild my big blocks and want to go to the lake I put one of my SBC in to go play.
Hello--
I hope someone out here can help me. I have an 18' Baja with a 350 Chevy/Berkeley 12JE pump. The motor seized and I have found another jet with a good running 454. I'd like to swap the 454 into my Baja, can anyone tell me what is involved in this swap? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All true statements. The starter works, the alternator works, ignition works, you can even use the same distributor. The motor mounts are even in the same place, as long as you are not using motor plates (as I am). Then, I don't know what the compatability is.
Or, buy my Eliminator http://free.***boat.net/ubb/tongue.gif
If you are using motor plates the BB is 1 7/8" longer than a SB. That is from the block flange in back to the front of the block.
And if you are using motor plates, the rear plate for BBC is same as SBC so you can use what you already have.
