I am putting roller rockers in and I need tall valve covers. Some of the valve covers Im looking at have no provisions for breathers or pcv valves. What is recommended in this situation.?
    I kinda like these
    custom covers (http://www.weirdharoldscoolparts.com...lve_covers.htm)

    Hey Matt
which ever valve covers you get make sure they will clear your headers. Like the one;s in your link may not clear at the back side. Also you can just drill them and insert rubber grometts or weld the bungs into them. I use the eddie marine covers that have the outside angle built into them. good luck Tim

Use a holesaw and do them yourself. Drill them from the outside with a block of wood on the inside for backing to steady the bit. Or you could take them somewhere to have them cut. Oooooorrrrr you could just use the bolt on style breathers that rex or cp sells?

Thanks for the advice. I really hate spending $200 on custom valve covers and then having to modify them to fit.

that's just the way that goes. they don't put breathers in them because there are so many different applications for them. You might want one way, say a tall baffled breather on each cover (hint hint). Some off shore guy might want a PCV valve on one side and a push in breather in the other. Then you will have some dirt track racer that hooks both covers together and puts the breathers on the cross over tube. Oh, can't leave out the puke tank guys either.

I have these Wysco valve covers which have Eddie Marine breathers. Not to mention the DNE sticker and YES, these are the same valve covers that were in Hot Boat Magazine (LOL) :mix:
Anyways, these are good valve covers and you will have no problem with roller rockers and a stud girdle under these. The only thing is a piece of chrome came off one on the valve covers which you can see in the thrid photo, but when they are on the boat, you don't even notice. I didn't notice for a long time. With that being said, make offer an offer if you want them!

There is someone on Ebay selling a lot of valve covers. Plain, ball milled and whatever. I have modded these for some people.. cut holes and TIGed fittings in for them. They are cast and TIging them is tricky.
Some of these covers are about 68.00.

I'd definitely go for the bolt on breathers (I hole sawed mine for press the press in type, and have always regretted it). They always seem to loosen up after a while.
