My Dad flew B-17's and B-29's in WWII. He just turned 82 and for his b-day I got him an hour in a Cessna 206 tomorrow. He hasn't been up in about 10 years; he's not current so an instructor is going along.
Should be fun! Any ladies going to be doing any nude sunbathing in the OC tomorrow???

That's the Collings Foundation. -24 and a -17. My dad's kinda funny with that; he want's to fly the damn thing, not ride in the back LOL.
If you've never been around one of those when they fire up, holy crap. Blue smoke like 100 PWC's in the channel on a calm, hot day; everything squeeking and groaning.
About your grandfather's gunner position - not the worst on the plane; that prize went to the belly turret guy. Had to be, like 5'4" to fit down in that thing; aimed through your legs.
    Damn.

Flying is just a blast. It spoils you. I'm in Napa in 1:30. Same for Las Vegas.
    My other ride:

    Very nice.
When my dad was still flying - he did corporate stuff locally for about 2 or 3 guys. He had keys (and could use whenever he wanted-just top the tanks) to a 172, 210, Aero Commander-non turbine; ?580 I think, and a Citabria - very STOL; trippy plane to be sure.
My first trip up was when I was about 6 months old. Twin Beech, radials. Still have the picture from that.
Yes. Flying is great. Where are you based?

The plane is in Tulare. Not any decent hangars here.
