MikeF, did you use the 1.8s on the zz502 crate with aluminum heads? just wondering since you had to do some grinding to the heads. when i assembled my engine i looked at that and had alot of clearance with the 1.7 comp cams roller rockers. actually i believe the pushrod guides had less clearance. but you can buy clearanced guides for pretty cheap.
Well....no. I don't have aluminum heads. But I did have to clearance the pushrod holes/passages for a few of the intake valves pushrods on my 990's.
Just throwing something out there that you might see when you are reassembling.

and it is a good point to bring up. its easy to overlook something like that. especially if you use larger diameter pushrods. my question was not at all sarcasm, i am really interested in the clearance problem useing the 1.8s , as i am thinking to try them on my 502. but i have the aluminum heads. i will however double check my clearances before buying the rockers as i dont plan to remove the heads. so clearancing isnt an option. thanks for the tip. and im sure Jbone will now double check this aswell before running his 1.8s
