If you are going on the river launch at Davis camp accross from the casinos on the AZ side. Leave the casinos, cross the bridge, take a left and Davis Camp is right there on your LH side. Gets crowded there but just go up/down the river to ty to create some space. If you are going on the lake go to Katherines. Hopefully if you are going on the river it is during the week. Weekends are pretty crazy with the jet skis.
Thanks. As a matter of fact I am going Thurs Fri and Sat of next week.
I think I will head up to a lake, water is warmer and less of a current for the kids.

You can launch several places up and down the river….
There is a camp ground right across; up river from the casinos that has an “ok” ramp.
There also is a park on Bullhead side, across Harrah’s Del Rio and then of course, you can launch from Avi and Needles.
Remember, the “river” constantly changes and the depth changes as well. Usually, during the weekends, they let enough water out to satisfy the boats. Use extreme caution regarding the “lice” they are usually weekend renters and have no clue about boating safety I saw many Paramedic calls right in front of the casinos over memorial because of sheer stupidity. Make sure you have a full tank of gas; however gas is available at the Topoc marina. I have gone from Laughlin to Havasu, London Bridge and it was an all day event but we did float down river for several hours The Gorge is cool as well as the sandbar.

I just launched at Needles Marina last w/e and it was a piece of cake..easy to find, nice ramp, no crowd. Wish I'd a done that before. Used to launch at the Avi and hated dealing w/the current. The ride from Needles to Topock was great/no worries.

I think I will stick to the lake, for the kid's sake. How far is it from the hotels to Katherines' landing? Any idea on fee for launching? I will be there next thurs and friday, wondering how busy it might be and what time would be good to be there.
Anywhere else to launch from on to lake?

if you wanna stay away from the idiots on the skis launch at Avi, or Needles marina it is the only place to be, :burningm: unless you like renters that dont know the rules of the water. :burningm:
