Since a lot of these are based on statistics, I did some quick calculations and came up with:
Chances of getting killed in a boating accident on Arizona waterways: 1 in 179,397
This was figured using 2004 Arizona Boat Use Days (3,229,153) and dividing by the number of Fatalities on Arizona Waterways (18) including those reported to other states and occuring on the Colorado River and its Lakes.
Some other interesting odds
Chances of suffering an injury if involved in a collision on a PWC: 1 in 3.5
Chances of getting killed in an accident on a PWC: 1 in 82.5
Chances of suffering an injury if involved in a collision in a non-PWC vessel: 1 in 3.2
Chances of getting killed in an accident in a non-PWC vessel: 1 in 25.7
These are based on total numbers of reported accidents for each vessel type, and numbers of fatalities and injuries. (2004-Arizona only)
