I have a pic of gofastracers set up. I am looking for all the pics I can get of the shaft log, seal and front of v-drive with coupling all mounted up. I am trying to come up with ideas of how to fit a 6 bolt heavy duty coupling with a safety collar in the boat.
Thanks.

What kind of packing seal is that? the steel one from Rex? It looks alot shorter than the plastic deal I have, that is a long hose though.
Its the short Shaft Log Seal, Rex part #242-126. Same set up I have in my boat. Change the grease seal once a year and you are good to go.
Cole Man.
So most of the hose is just empty? until it connects to the log?

If you put grease it once in wile you will not have to change it
Here is a random question, how much water would come on board if that small seal cracked or broke? anyone heard of this happening?
Yes, most of the hose is just empty. The hose is just a union, adjust the length as needed.
And if you keep it greased, and change it once a year the floor of your boat will be dry, unlike so many others you see at the lake. I think I paid $1.98 for a new seal last winter.
I've had the same seal for 5 years now and no leaks. I just put a little greas in befor I head to the lake.
