now that my pump rebuild is well underway had a quick question....i was spinning my stainless A (i believe) there is nothing stamped on it at 5500. i should have about 450hp. im moving to an aluminum A2 what rpm difference can i expect? will the weight difference influence much seeing that its not a big horsepower motor? and what is the best way to get that wear ring out? thanks guys.

the aa impeller will pull your rpm's down about 400 or 500 a bigger impeller isn't always better, take a dremel tool and cut the ring out at 45 deg angle so your can get the whole ring be careful not to cut the housing and put the new one in the freezer for a day and get the housing warm it will make the ring go in alittle easier, make sure you cut the liner close as possible

As stated above use a propane torch, and go around the inside of the wearring area. The liner will buble up like GREAT STUFF does coming out of the can, Then you can pop the old ring right out

Do a search in Just Jets on (Extrude Hone) there are a few threads here is one.http://www.***boat.net/forums/showth...t=extrude+hone
I looked up extrude hones website and seen they get $350. to do a jet bowl.Seems like allot of money to me.In one of the threads I seen it mentioned that water will flow better on a slightly rough surface than a smooth highly polished surface.
