Need a new set of tires for my truck. It is a 2001 F350 Crewcab Dually 4X4 diesel. I carry a 4500 lb. Lance campera and a 22 foot boat. The truck is stock but I am considering a leveling kit which is a 2 inch lift for the front only. I am also considering a set of Ranch RS-9000 shocks.
What tires does any reccomend? I am planning on staying with the stock size, 235/85/16. I have been looking at the Michelin LTX A/T, Bridgestone Dueler A/T, Goodyear Wrangler MT/R, and the Goodyear SilentArmor. Your thoughts greatly apprecialed.

Don't rule out Cooper Discoverer's. I just changed 2 of the 6 on mine (actually Cooper SRMIIs) that were 5 years old. Barely starting to show weather cracks. Real nice tires and significantly cheaper. No problems with quality. Have been putting them on for years. Last American owned, American made tires.
Whatever brand/model, make sure you get 10 ply (load range "E") and not 8 ply (load range "D") for your weight. 235's come in both.

the michelin XPS RIB or the XPS TRACTION are awsome tires for heavy loads. high load lange and they last a long time. ive used the "traction" and love them. work great for off road but are still very quiet. plus they are all steal belted, even the side walls are steal belted, not nylon cord or whatever else they make side walls out of. in fact they are one of the only tire of that size that can be re-treaded, if you use them for fleet. though never use a re-tread for front tires. extremely strong carcus. they are more expensive than most but like i said they last which saves money in the long run. and i swear these things are bullet proof.

I would definatley stay with something made of rubber j/K I have always had good luck with BFG on my trucks. Out of the ones you mentioned I would say the Michelins, do they make a load rated E tire? Also dont waste your money on the Rancho shocks, get a good set of BILSTIENS.

I actually run the BFG Mud Terains on mine and have gotten about 100K each set. I also run the 255/85R16 which are a tall 33" (33.4") most 33"s are 32.8" tall !!! I have a SkyJacker 6" system on the truck !!!

Do the back tires touch each other and did you have to use a spacer? I have an 11 foot camper and are concerned about running a spacer.

    Rick,
I use a 1/4" spacer to give extra room, because I sometimes tow super heavy loads. Like when I moved I had 25K on a trailer. Without the spacer there was plenty of room but I just wanted to be on the safe side.
