Why not go with something like this. And then a steering wheel mounted trim controllerer.

I have an 82 Eliminator Daycruiser with the stock shift lever, and the stock dash trim buttons, one for in, one for out, and you press a third with the out to trailer. This is a horrible set-up. My gauge is directly in front of the lever, where I have to look down and to the left to see where I am at. When I want to trim I need to take my hand off of the lever to trim in. Not fun at high speed.
Question is who makes a good model that has an integrated trim button on the lever?? My buddy has a nice one on an OMC lever, but I am all mercruiser. I cant go to the offshore type because I need one that attached to the side of the hull, not sitting on top of the hull.
I've go to think there is a perfect fit out there!

This would be my choice. reaching for the handle is a pain in the ass.
