It's a ski race boat with that drive setup to run on the surface. The blast plate tames the roost so the skier doesn't feel like he's skiing behind a jetboat. It was discussed a couple weeks ago in the sandbar.
What are they trying to accomplish with this set up? and why did they do it this way? This isn't common, correct?
