You could take the 5 north to the freeway just past Magic Mountain (2 exits past.....could be 126, not sure). Make a left (west) stay on that freeway (2 lane)......takes you thru Fillmore and Santa Paula, and will dump you into oxnard on the 101 past all the fires.
