I am looking for a better way to mout my alternator in my boat. Right now I have a very getto braket that mounts to where the water pump would be if it was a vdrive. ( old nicson hard ware) I have heard that you can mount it to the jet pump housing and run a pully off of the drive shaft. Has any one ever done this??? An ideas you have would be great. I so can't wait to light this thing up....probly won't have seats til the spring but I will be out there on a milk crate.

There must be some pics somewhere from 04 CBBB that show Steelcomps set-up but he may have some of his own.

Ty thats what I am looking for. Did you machine the pully to fit over the drive shaft or did you have the drive shaft made?

My shaft bolted to the yoke going to the pump. The pulley is a GM smog pump pulley. Had a machinist fit the pulley to the yoke. Made a bracket to mount the alt to the pump base. Then a small bracket on the bearing cap for the tensioner rod.

Bolt That Sucker To The Side Of Your Boat, And Throw A Big Padle Wheel On It.... Like A Steam Boat.... Wouldnt Rob Horse Power From The Engine... Thats What Cs19 Is Gonna Do, Because He's Gonna Need All The Power He Can Get Next Year. In Fact, Thats Just One Of The Many Great Speed Secrets He Is Hiding... He's Also Gonna Turn His Headers Around, To Force Cool The Block With Cool Air Through The Heads, Thus Eliminating The Need For Water From The Jet... Which Means More Water Preasure Out The Nozzle (instant Speed)..... And Many More Changes On The Way.. Reclining Seats For Airo Dinamics... He Is Also Working With Lance Armstrong On A Super Fast Lycra Driving Suit, But Thats Just To Atract The Ass Jockies He Likes So Much...

Here's my set-up, and it's for sale. Complete set up...Marine alt. w/ pulley, yoke w/pulley, polished billet bracket, ARP hardware, and two belts. The bracket replaces the front bearing retainer on the pump.
    Here's just the bracket
