Well, supposedly the problem's fixed! Turned out to be a problem with the lifter on Valve No. 5. Mechanic says that engine's "screamin'" Runs like a dream. Keep your fingers crossed. Thanks to everyone who replied!

Thanks, In2Deep. We've got EVERYTHING crossed that this saga is finally over. We're so anxious to be able to just get out on the lake, relax, kick back, pop a cold one and enjoy ourselves.
