I have a question
I know this verys from one district to another
how much is a teachers salary per year
and how many days a year do they work for that salary
and how many Hrs a day do they work
any one know
I know that the State of California mandates 180 days of instruction. I have a teacher friend of mine who makes $65k per year teaching PE.

lets say 65k divided by say 200 days thats $325 bucks a day $40+ an Hr
plus benny's is that right ???

Many districts start new teachers at less than $30K per year. A high-seniority teacher with a Masters will probably make about double that...depending on the district. Most teachers work 9 months a year. Specialists work 12 months.
My wife goes in at 7AM, and is out by 5PM everyday, and works some weekends. All this will vary by District (compensation), and even principal/school (hours).
My wife has a bachelors, two years of post-graduate/credential, and will get her Masters this year.

Don't forget the money that teachers take out of there own pocket for supplies, and the time they spend out side the classroom i.e. lesson plans and grading papers when you calculate just how much the damn, easy job, summer off, no good, crying, teachers are making. Please include the cost of continued education, all the extra time they put in pre school hours,and after school hours that they spend making themselves avalible to parents and students also.
I am not a teacher, you can tell by my grammer and spelling.

Tell all the facts, NO TEACHER IS MAKING THAT with out specific things occurring.
Masters degree, Dr. degree, working Z time, picking up extra classes before and after school.
Let all the facts be known, not just the BS people want to hear....

teachers are no where close top that either, HH already said it 30K and that is the norm, not the exception....

I know you could not survive on 30K a year...
How many years do you have in your profession and I'll let you know what you are making...
