Thread: Muffler Recommendation for 502 Gentry Turbo V-Drive

We ran a burnstainless type muffler on our turbo boat, They are actually made by another company. It does quiet down the boat for sure. These mufflers have no internal baffels in them, just preforated stainless and some sound absorbing packing between.

they come in 2" - 5" sizes but I wouldn't mount anything on the other side of them the stainless is .035.

I have a little video of the boat running in the driveway so you can hear what they sound like, if you would like.

More great muffler information thanks! I need to figure out how to decrease the pixels on my engine shot. I would love to share that. It's a work of art.
On the apartment situation, I'm trying to figure out a way to do an engine tear down and build in my living room, but the door is not big enough to get the engine through. I thought about removing my living room window and having the fork lift down the street from the construction site load her up. I live upstairs. My downstair neighbors are used to chainsaws, grinders and weed eaters being fired up. Atleast it would be a clean place to work on an engine.

    Sean,
As alluded to by the earlier post, check out the offerings from the folks at Burns.

They can build whatever you need and should have a good amount of knowledge to get you pointed in the right direction. I know CS19 here on the boards had done some testing with them on his NA motor so they should have a clue as to what needs to happen with the marine stuff.

yeah, that's Ken's rig. Nice coverage on his rig this last issue. Louis also did the rigging on this one for Mitchel when he owned it. His boat is definately faster than mine. I would say it goes 90 or so, but not over a hundred, atleast from what Gibbs told me when he worked my prop and ran the calcs with 40% overdrive. I've got alot more boat in the water with 100 gallons of fuel on board that an IO Vector. Breaking the water down for the skier is good. Anyway, I don't ski that fast, I'm just starting out and anything over 4K is pretty exciting to me (I know, pansy compared to the guys on the circuit).
Hallett - are you Bob from Havasu City with the Schiada Boats decal in the back of your white Dodge Cummins? Is that the former NWSRA #788 boat (lee's ride)? If so, I believe that I met you last Christmas break in Havsu City out in front of Taco Time, or whatever the local taco joint is there in Havasue. Did you ever find your 19' Rayson Craft? Your boats been getting some nice coverage. Looks great!

Yeah, that would be great. Only about a 23 hour drive for me to get down to Havasu from Moscow, Idaho, but well work the trip.
I may be getting down your way soon. Drop me an email at Sean@aha.com and I'll send you a list of photos and and a cool web cam shot that I'm sure that you'll dig.
Chris from Rex Marine - did you ever get that web cam video that I sent you from 02 NWSRA nationals. That's cools stuff. Goldfinger productions does some nice coverage that makes your office cubicle almost as good as being in the boat at 80 mph facing backwards with a skier off the back end.
