I'll bet if I started a thread that read, "I'm at 4980 km into a 5000 km service interval... and I urgently need to go on a trip that exceeds 20 km..." ... people would be telling me to rent a car becase mine is going to explode in 21 km.

Funny you should mention that......I was working on something on my Daughters Volvo a few years ago.....and I relayed to her that the sticker on the rocker cover said ....replace the timing belt at 60k miles.....It had 54k at the time.....she blew off the reminder......and at exactly 60.4k miles the belt broke.....guess how much that rebuild cost....

Those Europeans don't design much service life tolerance into their timing belts.
Nissan, on the other hand, seem to design in plenty! lmao!
How would you have figured out a way to scold your daughter if the belt had given up at 59.9k?
