Honestly, I dont know exactly how anyone with a thread of common sense could 'forget' there's a round in the chamber. But when I read what the law found on this moron, it all makes sense. Read on....

A man suffered a gunshot wound Friday, after his co-worker accidentally fired a rifle he brought to their workplace.
The shooting happened just after 8 a.m. Friday at an auto supply store in the 4000 block of Market Street in Mount Hope, according to officials. A mechanic was showing off an AK-47 rifle to some co-workers when the firearm went off. The man apparently thought the rifle was not loaded, but there was a round in the chamber.
The shooting victim, a 17-year-old employee, was hit in the hip. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
Although the shooting does not appear to be intentional, police warn against handling firearms, especially in the workplace.
"Always treat a firearm as though it's loaded, and you don't ever aim it at anything you don't intend to shoot," SDPD Captain Cesar Solis said.
The 47-year-old unidentified suspect faces weapons charges, as well as narcotics charges after police reportedly discovered methamphetamine on him.

It doesn't surprise me at all. It can happen very easily. People get shot at work in Canada all the time.
    Be careful, people.

Its not that they forget they have a round in the chamber they assume its unloaded. "The most dangerous gun is an unloaded one". Read into that and you'll know what I mean.
