Not getting much help from eliminator for this boat. I have found this hull on the net back to 1981. Can anybody tell me if it goes back any further than this?
Also would like to know the first manufac. of the tunnel. thanks http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

Ummm, well.... Its in the "TOPIC" but im speaking of the DAYTONA if you missed it.
I thnk they started making Daytonas in the mid 70's, if I recall correctly. OR...maybe not http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Like you can even remember the mid 70's! LOL
After all that time in the South Pacific, I'm kinda surprised you remember how to use the computer. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
Early 80's is as far back as I remember the Daytona.

First year of the 19' Eliminator Daytona................1976! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
Sorry.... I assumed you meant a specific length/model I believe there is a 19',21',22',23',24',25',26',27',28' tall and 28'LP,30',33',36'! They are all going to have thier own characteristics....I have an 88' 21 Daytona, in my opinion a VERY stable 21' cat with an outboard. It has a centerpod that is NOT raised which is different than most of todays cats....NO PORPOISE anywhere..... I also had a buddy who owned a 19' Daytona, true tunnel with a V drive, NO centerpod.... very rare boat (I heard only 4 were made, but I dont know) and a very scary boat to drive...It drove ok with your foot in it, but if you came off it abruptly it turned HARD right, and I mean Fast and Hard right.....my favorite Daytona models are
1. 28LP
2. 25
3. 36
Which model are you looking at?

Not positive, but my guess would be a company called Powercat. Made a 13' cat (no center pod) and ran twin 45 horse O/B on them back in the late 50's. Anyone else know of a manufacture before then?
I think Polynesian outrigger canoes are similar to today's tunnel boats and they made those about 1200 years ago. Anything else is just a splash http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
Thanks everybody. HavasuDreamin' hit the nail on the head. I was speaking of a 19 daytona. Charley, isnt the bottom hull design unchanged between daytona models? Your talking about top/hight/interior correct? I was also told if I where to get an old daytona that the 21' is the size to get. Is this true or is this somebody's personal opinion? Thanks again. I still have a lot to learn about these boats.
