RR, if you have a closed bow then I suggest you put the 12" subs enclosed in the bow. I have the Carrera Party Effect and have a ton of power (stereo) and do 70 and I don't play stereo when I'm running topped out for 2 reasons. No matter how good of a system you have once you start running you need to crank system up to hear it and trust me it's like hitting the rev limiter you can only handle so much. This drains batteries and decreases the life of the speakers and the bass losses it's umph when you start rolling. If you notice in a car your bass hits harder when you are stopped. So by not playing it this gives your batteries time to charge and you would have more power when you need to hear it, thru the channel or at the sandbar. The other reason I don't play it is on most CD changers and head units they skip all over the place. Sony came out with a pretty trick changer CDX 747, it has a 12 second delay so it can handle the rough water. I have that and a Mini Disc changer and that one has a 10 second delay, so I never skip a beat, well maybe once or twice when it's really rough. So to be honest save your power for the right time. Make sure you try to mount your tweeters has high as possible and keep your amps cool and dry... Good Luck........... BF

Boat Job, that is very impressive. I have a similar type of hull with the Carrera 257 and am looking to add a sound system before this summer. I didn't think you could clearly hear a decent sound system past 50 but if you can hear it up to 80, I'm sold. Where do you have the 12's mounted? Is it better to mount them under the bow facing aft or under the rear seat facing forward?
