I use blue locktite. I did not do the tighten-loosen cycle. 50 ft/lbs. I have several in use this way with no problems. I use the tighten/loosen cycle with rods, mains, heads.
Bought the arp rocker studs, Anything special i need to do when installing these? I looked on arp's site and they talk about torqueing and loosening there fastners 5 times before it's final torque. Also they didnt come with any of arp's lube, do they need it? My book talks about torqueing the rocker studs to 50 ft/lbs and to use red locktite, it says nothing about oiling them.

Silicone seal or thread seal if they go into water.
Dont think they go into water? The heads are the 990's
take a good look at all the exhaust.
They don't go into water on my 990's!....
Ok..just wanted to be sure. Many aluminums do. And I gave up cast iron long ago. Justin's heads and Morgs head's both went into water. But those were alum. But maybe it was the 2 intakes that dont go into the actual ports.

haha you should know too Art, i got these from you
Another quick Q, when reading the arp's rocker arm stud page out of there catalog it says these are not to be used with OEM style self locking nuts. I bought scorpion roller rockers, do i need to buy the special ARP Perma-Loc adjusters?
apply loctite and torque to 50 pounds. they will hold there. i did`nt use loctite at first but do now since i had a stud come loose during valve adjustment. now you can learn by "my" mistake.

They are telling you that because the OEM nuts are junk and ruin threads on the studs, you can use any poly lok you want but the ARP's are a good choice!..
