WHERE THE HELL DID YOU COME UP WITH THAT IDEA BETWEEN A BUG A BIRD CATCHER?????????........DOINK!
I love when f'n know it all morons, like THE CABLE GUY that only have 8 posts, criticize members, not knowing the facts. So T.C.G. let me school you sense you don't know shit!! This is why companies like BDS use the bird catcher on their EFI units. And if you still think I don't know what I'm talking about try calling Ralph Gore fuel injection in Lake Forest Ca, and ask him. He is the one that showed this to me.
In diagram A, below the machine surface on a Bird Catcher extends deeper into the hat.

In diagram B on the Bug Catcher the surface drops off in to the casting, so as soon as the top side off the bug catchers butterflies get to that point it will flow more air then the Bird Catcher. This makes for a quicker transition from low RPM's to to higher RPM's, and it also gives you less resolution in the throttle at lower RPM's.
