Well after tearing one carb down and attempting to clean it i decided to send the carbs out to be rebuilt. I sent them to Bigs Performance to have them do the work. I've heard good things about there work and a buddy of mine who does work for fordmuscle.com also ran one of their carbs. So far i'm impressed with how clean they got them. I used chemdip, carb cleaner, scrub brushes, etc to try to clean these things and i just couldnt get them clean. Here's a few pics

Did they clean them, or paint them? The new color doesen't look like mine. Holley has a color that looks like that.

I'm not sure but a buddy of mine said it made a huge diffrence on his car. Said throttle responce was awsome and the car felt stronger all the way through the rpm range. These carbs have not been run for 10 years so i wont be able to tell if they made any real diffrence, but if you do a search on google for bigs there's alot of good stuff on them.

They cleaned and painted them. THe inside of the carb body was rediculis, i scrubed the crap out of them and stuff couldnt get them very clean. They painted the outside and the inside is splotless too.
I am impressed... how much did they charge?
